Tora-Shipwreck Surf Guide
Tora-Shipwreck in the Waiararpa is a quite exposed reef break that only works when conditions are just right. Summer in particular tends to be flat. Ideal winds are from the southwest. Most of the surf here comes from groundswells and the ideal swell direction is from the southeast. There are left and right breaking reefs. Good surf at all stages of the tide. Unlikely to be too crowded, even when the surf is up. The shipwreck is something of a hazard.
