Playa Ballena Surf Guide
Playa Ballena in Puerto Rico is a fairly exposed sandbar break that has quite consistent surf, although summer tends to be mostly flat. The best wind direction is from the northwest with some shelter here from west winds. Windswells and groundswells in equal measure and the ideal swell direction is from the south. The sandbar breaks offer lefts and rights. Unlikely to be too crowded, even when the surf is up. Dangerous rips are a hazard of surfing here.
