Whites Reef Surf Guide
Whites Reef in Far West Coast is an exposed reef break that has fairly consistent surf. Winter is the favoured time of year for surfing here. The break needs some west in the swell for it to break and barely start going till there's 3m of swell running . If the swell is south it needs to be huge otherwise it just doesn't get in there. Off shore winds are from the ESE and it can handle any wind from the south if it is light. It can handle any wind strength from the SE-NE because the cliffs provide shelter but as soon as there's to much north or any west it will start to get chopped up. It breaks as a left hander over a slab base and on a good day rides are long to very long. Starts working at 2ft and holds 10+. Good surf at all stages of the tide. Often Crowded. Watch out for rips, rocks and sharks.
