Waikawau Bay Surf Guide
Waikawau Bay in Coromandel is a quite exposed beach break that has quite consistent surf. Summer offers the optimum conditions for surfing. Works best in offshore winds from the west. Most of the surf here comes from groundswells and the best swell direction is from the northeast. The beach break offers both left and right hand waves. Best around mid tide when the tide is rising. Unlikely to be too crowded, even when the surf is up.
