Offshore winds are from the northwest with some shelter here from south winds. Waves just as likely from local windswells as from distant groundswells and the ideal swell direction is from the east northeast. The beach breaks offer lefts and rights. Good surf at all stages of the tide. Rarely crowded here. Dangerous rips are a hazard of surfing here.
