A solid groundswell pours into Gourao Bay from a storm off the west coast of New Zealand a few days earlier. Bonhomme de Bourail, is in the foreground and the rights here were well overhead but unsurfed. Also unsurfed, the various reefs around the reef pass, looked 2-3 times overhead this day but wind-affected. At top-left the Nera Rivermouth, with about 10 surfers out on the sandbar. Shoulder to head-high here and peeling for about 400m. A few surfers caught much steeper waves on the inside.
