Punta Negra Surf Guide
Punta Negra in Uruguay - South is an exposed beach and reef break that has pretty consitent surf. Autumn and winter are the optimum times of year for waves. Offshore winds are from the north northwest and there is no shelter here from cross shore breezes. Tends to receive distant groundswells and the ideal swell angle is from the south. Waves at the beach are both lefts and rights and there are also left and right hand reef breaks on offer. The quality of the surf isn't affected by the tide. When it's working here, it can get crowded.
