Otago Peninsula - Long Beach Surf Guide
Long Beach on the Otago Peninsula is a fairly exposed beach break that does not work very often with no particular seasonal pattern. Ideal winds are from the south southwest. Most of the surf here comes from groundswells and the ideal swell angle is from the northeast. The beach break provides left and right handers. Best around high tide when the tide is rising. Even when there are waves, it's not likley to be crowded. Overcrowding can even make surfing hazardous.
