Itaipu Surf Guide
Itaipu in Rio de Janeiro is an exposed reef break that has fairly consistent surf. Winter is the optimum time of year for surfing here. The best wind direction is from the northeast. Most of the surf here comes from groundswells and the best swell direction is from the southwest. Reef breaks provide lefts and rights. Unlikely to be too crowded, even when the surf is up. Watch out for rocks.
