Honolua Bay in Maui is a quite exposed reef and point break that has very reliable surf. Winter is the optimum time of year for surfing here. Works best in offshore winds from the southeast. Groundswells more frequent than windswells and the ideal swell direction is from the north northwest. Best around mid tide. It's often crowded here. Watch out for urchins and rips.
