Doonbeg Castle Surf Guide
Doonbeg Castle in County Clare is a very sheltered reef break that has quite reliable surf, although summer tends to be mostly flat. Works best in offshore winds from the southwest. Most of the surf here comes from groundswells and the ideal swell angle is from the northwest. No beach break here and there is left hand reef break too.. Even when there are waves, it's not likley to be crowded. Submerged rocks are a hazard.
