Carrowmore Surf Guide
Carrowmore in Mayo and Achill Island is a sheltered beach break that does not work very often. Summer in particular tends to be flat. The best wind direction is from the south with some shelter here from southwest winds. Most of the surf here comes from groundswells and the best swell direction is from the west. Waves at the beach break both left and right. When the surf is up, it can get quite busy in the water.
