This picture illustrates the variation of swells directed at Keokea Beach Park through a typical August and is based upon 3582 NWW3 model predictions since 2006 (values every 3 hours). The wave model does not forecast surf and wind right at the shore so we have chosen the optimum grid node based on what we know about Keokea Beach Park. In the case of Keokea Beach Park, the best grid node is 40 km away (25 miles).
