Turtle Beach in Alabama is an exposed beach break that only works when conditions are just right. Winter is the best time of year for surfing here. Offshore winds blow from the east northeast. Windswells are much more typical than groudswells and the best wave direction is from the northwest. The beach breaks offer lefts and rights. The quality of the surf isn't affected by the tide. Even when there are waves, it's not likley to be crowded. Watch out for dangerous rips.
