Steps in Qeenscliff is a reasonably exposed reef break that has pretty consitent surf and can work at any time of the year. Offshore winds are from the north northwest. Clean groundswells prevail and the best swell direction is from the southwest. There is a right hand reef break. When the surf is up, it can get quite busy in the water. Rocks are a hazard.
