Scarecrows in Sumatra (Mentawi Islands) is an exposed reef break that has reliable surf. May-Oct (Dry Season) is the best time of year for waves. Ideal winds are from the east northeast. Groundswells more frequent than windswells and the ideal swell direction is from the southwest. A left hand reef break. Best around high tide when the tide is falling. Sometimes crowded. Watch out for rocks.
