Punta de Lobos in Santiago is an exposed reef and point break that has very consistent surf. Winter is the best time of year for surfing here. Ideal winds are from the east southeast. Clean groundswells prevail and the optimum swell angle is from the southwest. A reef breaks left and there is also a left hand point break. When the surf is up, it can get quite busy in the water. Watch out for urchins, rips and rocks.
