Prainha in Santa Caterina is an exposed beach break that has very reliable surf. Winter is the optimum time of year for surfing here. Ideal winds are from the west southwest with some shelter here from south winds. Groundswells more frequent than windswells and the ideal swell direction is from the south. Waves at the beach tend to peel to the left. Sometimes crowded. Dangerous rips are a hazard of surfing here.
