Praia do Amado in South Portugal is a fairly exposed beach break that is usually a safe bet and works all around the year. Works best in offshore winds from the east with some shelter here from north winds. Tends to receive a mix of groundswells and windswells and the ideal swell angle is from the northwest. Waves at the beach are both lefts and rights. The quality of the surf isn't affected by the tide. Even when there are waves, it's not likley to be crowded. Watch out for .
