Playa los Frailes in Asturias is a sheltered beach break that has pretty consitent surf. Winter is the best time of year for surfing here. Works best in offshore winds from the southwest. Surfable in an onshore breeze Windswells and groundswells in equal measure and the ideal swell direction is from the northwest. The beach break provides left and right handers. Best around low tide. Even when there are waves, it's not likley to be crowded. Dangerous rips are a hazard of surfing here.
