Ixtapa Island in West Guerrero is an exposed reef break that only works once in a while. Summer offers the best conditions for surfing. The best wind direction is from the north northeast. Groundswells more frequent than windswells and the best swell direction is from the south. There is a right hand reef break. Good surf at all stages of the tide. Sometimes crowded. Beware of urchins,rocks and sharks.
