Bowentown Bar in Bay of Plenty is a reasonably exposed beach break that only works once in a while with no particular seasonal pattern. Works best in offshore winds from the west. Tends to receive distant groundswells and the ideal swell direction is from the north northeast. The beach breaks are all rights. It very rarely gets crowded here. Surfing here means negotiating dangerous rips.
